How Did Wine, Women & Shoes Get Started?
Years ago, Elaine Honig was looking for a fundraising event that differed from the usual wine and food pairing. She was looking for a way to gear the events toward women. What do women like more than wine and shoes? She had worked in the wine industry for 21 years and didn’t know anything about how to put on a successful fundraiser when all of this started. Her idea of creating a type of sisterhood has taken off and raised money while creating a fun, ladies night out in the process.

As Wine, Women & Shoes set of to educate people on wine, using shoes, they have been able to raise money for causes that really matter. Wine, Women & Shoes has hosted over 300 events and currently have raised over $40 million for several different charities and non-profits such as Make-A-Wish, Children Cancer Centers, Food Banks, and much more.

WW&S started out educating women on different aspects of wine. Honig wanted a place where women felt safe not knowing all the answers when it came to wine. She wanted to create a place where they could openly talk and learn about wine together. Now it has grown into so much more than that. Now wine tasting is coupled with a past time that most women love … shopping! There is a marketplace where women can shop for a wide range of shoes and other accessories, complete with a fashion show, auctions and other fun competitions and event highlights.
Wine, Women & Shoes Silent & Live Charity Auctions
Not only are women able to get out for an evening together for wine tasting and shopping, but they are giving back to several organizations through silent and live auctions.
